Steps:
Triethylsilanol
To the suspension of Pd/C (5 wt %, 10 mg), water (465 μL, 25.8 mmol, 3.0 equiv) and EtOAc (10 mL) was added triethylsilane (1.0 g, 1.37 mL, 8.60 mmol, 1.0 equiv). Immediately after the addition of triethylsilane H2-formation 8 was observed. After thebubbling ended, the reaction mixture was filtered through a small pad of alumina(neutral) column eluted with EtOAc (20 mL). The filtrate was concentrated in vacuum to afford product 7 as a colorless oil (1.15 g, 8.6 mmol, Quant).
