Production Methods | 4-Methoxycoumarin is produced from 4-Hydroxycoumarinwith Diazomethane. 4-Hydroxycoumarin may be obtained from Diphenylmalonate by cyclization with Aluminum chloride. It has also been prepared from Methyl acetylsalicylate by treatment with Sodium in liquid paraffin at 240 ℃.
