甘精胰島素是一種胰島素類似物，其在胰島素的雙鏈上分別取代了一個甘氨酸，增加了兩個精氨酸，因此，被稱之為甘精胰島素，這幾個基團的增加，使這個藥物的溶液在酸性的條件下澄清，而當(dāng)皮下注射入人體時，人體的偏中性環(huán)境導(dǎo)致甘精胰島素形成細(xì)小的沉淀，從而使藥物緩慢釋放，類似于人體的胰島素生理分泌，能夠平穩(wěn)有效的起到24小時控糖的作用。甘精胰島素是較新型的長效胰島素類似物，又被稱作基礎(chǔ)胰島素，每天固定時間注射一次，對于控制空腹血糖和餐后血糖，都有平穩(wěn)的控糖作用。Insulin (human) (Insulin regular) 是一種調(diào)節(jié)葡萄糖水平的多肽激素。Insulin 通常用于治療糖尿病患者的高血糖癥。效價(potency)：29 units/mg。
The human insulin gene contains two intervening sequences, one is within the region transcribed into the 5'-untranslated segment of the mRNA and the other interrupts the C-peptide encoding region. Human insulin is commonly used to treat type 2 diabetes.
