Beschreibung
An alkaloid of Voacanga species, this base occurs chiefly in V. african a, v. dregii and V. obtusa. It yields clusters of colourless crystals from MeOH-CHCI3 and has
[(dD - 321° (c 1.0, CHCI3). It is insoluble in most organic solvents but dissolves
in CHCI3. The hydrochloride has m.p. 242-4°C; the hydro bromide, m.p. 290°C
(dec.) and the picrate, m.p. 206-2100 C, decomposing at 300°C.
