14.3 g (97.9 mmol) of bis (dimethylamino) dimethylsilane was added to 12.6 g (97.9 mmol) of dichlorodimethylsilane and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 14 hours. A small amount of the insoluble matter formed was filtered off using a glass filter (G4) to obtain 26.3 g of chloro (dimethylamino) dimethylsilane as a colorless liquid. Yield 97%
