Example 70A To a suspension of (S)-2- (9H-FLUOREN-9- ylmethoxycarbonylamino)-3-quinolin-2-ylpropionic acid (0.25 g, 0.57 mmol) in 1: 1 mixture of toluene and methanol (4 mL, 4 mL) at 0°C was added trimeth- ylsilyldiazomethane (2 M solution in hexanes, 0.57 mL, 1.14 mmol) dropwise under N2. After stirring for 30 min, additional trimethylsilyldiazomethane (0.30 mL) was added and the mixture was stirred for addi- tional 30 min. All volatiles were removed under reduced pressure to give the title compound as a yellow oil, which was used in the next step without further purification. LCMS (ESI+; Method H) m/z 475 (M+Na) + for the free base; Rt=4.33 min (220 nm, 100 area %).
