Pyridinium chlorochromate (PCC) (64.29 mmol) was added to a stirring solution of 8-bromo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalen-1-ol (12.86 mmol) in dichloromethane (150 mL). The reaction mixture was passed through a silica plug and solvent was removed in vacuo. Yield: 2.76 g (95%)
