To a solution of the compound obtained in the above step (1) (620 mg) in methanol (20 mL) was added 10 % palladium-carbon (80 mg) and the mixture was EPO stirred at room temperature under hydrogen-gas atmosphere for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was filtered by a membrane filter and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to obtain 4-methoxypiperidine (290 mg, yield: 100 %) as a pale yellow oil. MS(APCI)m/z; 116 [M+H]+
