Preparation 1: 3-phenoxy-phenyl-l -hydrazine 3-phenoxy-phenylamine (3.7 g, 20 mmol) was dissolved in HCl (6 mL) at 0°C, and a solution of NaNO₂(13.8 g, 20 mmol) in H₂O (3 mL) was added thereto. The mixture was stirred for 10 min, and a solution of SnCl₂ in HCl was added dropwise thereto, followed by stirring for 3 hours. After the reaction was complete, a solid material was filtered, washed with diethyl ester, and dried to afford the title compound (3.36 g, 84 %). Mass[M+l] =201
