Steps:

1.2 Step 2: Preparation of ethyl 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-methyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylate

To a solution of the compound prepared in step 1 above in EtOH/AcOH (10:1) was added 4-methoxyphenylhydrazine, and the reaction mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 3 hours.The reaction mixture was diluted with EA, and the mixture waswashed withH2O, brine anddried overMgSO4.After drying, it was filtered and concentrated under vacuum.The resulting crude product was purified by flash-column chromatography using Hex/EA (5:1) as an eluent to obtain the target compound (ethyl 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-methyl-1H-pyrazole -3-carboxylate) and by-products (ethyl 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-methyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylate) were obtained as yellow oils.
