Reaction Conditions:
Stage #1: 5-nitro-2-chlorobenzenesulfonyl chloridewith potassium carbonate in tetrahydrofuran at 20; for 0.0833333 h;
Stage #2: diethylamine in tetrahydrofuran; for 6 h;
Steps:
1 Int-24: N,N-diethyl 2-chloro-5-nitrobenzenesulfonamide
Anhydrous K2CO3 (2.02 g, 14.64 mmol) was added to a stirred solution of 2- chloro-5-nitrobezene-1-sulfonyl chloride (2.5 g, 9.76 mmol) in THF (30 mL) at rt, and the reaction mixture was stirred for 5 min. Then diethylamine (0.784 g, 10.73 mmol) was added, and the reaction mixture was stirred for 6 hrs. After completion, THF was removed in vacuo, the mixture was diluted with water and extracted with EtOAc (3x150 mL). Combined organic layers were washed with water (250 mL), dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, and concentrated in vacuo to afford 2.6 g of Int-24 as a yellow solid in 91% yield.
