General procedure: The mixture of 2-hydroxybenzamide (1 g, 7.3 mmol) and NaOH(0.4 g, 10 mmol) was stirred in EtOH (40 mL). Then, an appropriatealkyl halide (10.95 mmol) was added and the reaction medium wasrefluxed for 6 h. The excess of solvent was evaporated underreduced pressure, leading to a residue, which was triturated withwater, filtered and dried.
