人血漿激肽釋放酶是一種絲氨酸蛋白酶，在肝臟中合成，通過(guò)與高分子量（HMW）激肽原結(jié)合或作為游離酶原在血漿中循環(huán)。該酶切割Lys-Arg和Arg-Ser鍵。它在與帶負(fù)電荷的表面結(jié)合后，通過(guò)相互反應(yīng)激活因子XII。它還從HMW激肽原中釋放緩激肽，并可能通過(guò)將前腎素轉(zhuǎn)化為腎素在腎素-血管緊張素系統(tǒng)中發(fā)揮作用。
