The protein has a calculated MW of 47.2 kDa. The protein migrates as 50-55 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

RANK/TNFRSF11A是腫瘤壞死因子受體家族的成員。RANK/TNFRSF11A在其細胞外四個富含半胱氨酸的重復序列中與TNFR家族的其他成員具有顯著的氨基酸同源性。小鼠的功能基因組學表明，RANKL（TNFSF11）是TNF配體超家族的成員，RANK（TNFRSF11a）是RANKL的同源TNFR家族受體，對體內(nèi)破骨細胞生成至關重要。由成骨細胞譜系的骨基質(zhì)細胞表達的RANKL和由造血髓系譜系的破骨細胞前體表達的RANK之間的功能相互作用是破骨細胞分化、存活和激活所必需的。
