tin mesoporphyrin Usage And Synthesis

Uses	Sn(IV) Mesoporphyrin IX Dichloride is a potent competitive inhibitors of heme oxygenase. It is a useful compound to study tumor angiogenesis in human pancreatic cancer.
Uses	Control of hyperbilirubinemia in preterm and term newborns (inhibitor of bilirubin).
Brand name	Stanate (Torcan).
Biological Activity	Stannsoporfin is a potent inhibitor of heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1) and heme oxygenase 2 (HO-2). It inhibits hepatic HO and controls serum levels of bilirubin in infants. Stannsoporfin potently inhibits myeloid HO-1 in tumors. It inhibits immune suppression of chemotherapy-elicited CD8+ T cells. Stannsoporfin concurrently administer with 5-Fluoro uracil produces immediate tumor regression in mice model of breast tumor.
