This compound is obtained by heating a mixture of 1,1-dimethylol
cyclopentane and phenyl isocyanate at a temperature of 85°C to 90°C for
one-half hour. The resultant product is washed with petroleum ether,
recrystallized from methanol, dissolved in acetone (impurities are filtered off)
and recrystallized from acetone.
The compound appears in the form of a white powder or of needle-shaped
crystals (MP = 147°C to 149°C), which are tasteless and odorless. | [Therapeutic Function]
