CHPG Sodium Salt (cas# 1303993-73-8) is a useful research chemical. Also, it is derived from 2-Chloro-5-hydroxybenzaldehyde (C368225), which is used as a reagent in the synthesis of p38 inhibitors which are used for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is also used in the preparation of halogenated analogs of L-meta-tyrosine which is a biodegradable herbicide. 2-Chloro-5-hydroxybenzaldehyde may also be used as a starting material in the synthesis of chlorinated phenylephrine. | [Biological Activity]
CHPG sodium salt is a selective mGluR5 agonist and attenuates SO2-induced oxidative stress and inflammation in BV2 microglia via the TSG-6/NF-κB pathway. It prevents traumatic brain injury (TBI) in vitro and in vivo through the ERK and Akt pathways. | [in vitro]
CHPG sodium salt (10-500 μM; 24 hours) significantly increases the cell viability and decreases the LDH release after SO 2 derivatives treatment. It protects BV2 cells against SO 2 -induced apoptosis. It treatment alone increases the expression of TSG-6 in both mRNA and protein levels. Cell Viability Assay Cell Line: | BV2 microglial cells | Concentration: | 10, 50, 100 and 500 μM | Incubation Time: | 24 hours | Result: | Increased the cell viability. | < p class="cpd-mod-vv-tit "> Apoptosis Analysis Cell Line: | BV2 microglial cells | < /tr> Concentration: | 0.5 mM | Incubation Time: | 30 mins | Result: | Protected BV2 cells against SO 2 -induced apoptosis. | Western Blot Analysis Cell Line: | BV2 microglial cells | Concentration: | 0.5 mM | Incubation Time: | 30 mins | Result: | Increased the expression of TSG-6 in both mRNA and protein levels. | i> | [in vivo]
CHPG sodium salt (injection; 250 nM; for 7 days) reduces significantly cerebral lesion volume.
